Monthly Hat Draw: Official Rules

Official rules (plain words)

1. No purchase necessary. Buying anything does not help you win. SportsMafia is free and there is nothing to buy.
2. Who can enter: registered SportsMafia members who are 18 or older, or the age of majority where they live if that is higher, and who live where this draw is legal. Void where prohibited. SportsMafia staff (admins and moderators) and bot or test accounts can't enter or win.
3. Draw period: each calendar month, Toronto time (America/Toronto), is a separate draw.
4. How to get ballots: (a) every recruit who counts that month earns you 1 ballot. A recruit counts when they joined through your invite link, has an active account, and made 3 posts or linked their Sleeper account. Recruits flagged as your own extra accounts don't count. (b) Free entry, no recruiting needed: get 1 free ballot per month by sending staff a message through Contact Us with the words "Monthly Draw" and your username. Limit one free ballot per member per month. Both ways have equal standing in the draw.
5. Prize: one (1) SportsMafia Founding Members hat per month (approximate retail value $50 CAD). No cash alternative unless SportsMafia chooses to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
6. Odds depend on the total number of ballots for that month. More ballots means better odds, but no number of ballots guarantees a win.
7. The draw: a staff member draws one winner at random, weighted by ballots, within 7 days after the month ends. The draw tool records the random seed and the time so the result can be checked.
8. Skill-testing question: a winner who lives in Canada must correctly answer a math skill-testing question, without help, before receiving the prize.
9. Contacting the winner: we contact the winner by site direct message or site alert. The winner has 14 days to reply and claim the prize, including giving a shipping address. If they don't claim it in time, or don't meet these rules, a new winner is drawn from the same month's ballots.
10. Fair play: extra accounts, fake sign-ups or any trick to get ballots will disqualify you. SportsMafia's decisions about eligibility and winners are final.
11. Your info: we only use the winner's details to deliver the prize.
12. Organizer: SportsMafia.net. SportsMafia may change, suspend or cancel this draw at any time by updating this page.
