Paul Skenes, for the most part, has bounced back from his nightmarish start to the 2026 season in New York. But that isn't to say he's been as flawless as 2025, either.

The reigning NL Cy Young Award winner, still just 23, came into Saturday's matchup between the Pirates and Blue Jays coming off a five-run outing — and Toronto didn't take long to jump on Skenes either, although he settled in afterward.

Skenes giving up a first-inning home run to George Springer resulted in an interesting live reaction from his well-known girlfriend, influencer and gymnast Livvy Dunne, who was in Toronto for the matchup.

Here's a look at Dunne's up-and-down reaction to Skenes' first inning against the Blue Jays.

Livvy Dunne reaction to Paul Skenes giving up home run

Dunne has often traveled along with Skenes when he's scheduled to make a start — and a trip north of the border was no exception.

She was seen in the stands at Rogers Centre as Skenes took the mound in the bottom of the first inning on Saturday afternoon. As Skenes was firing in his first two pitches to leadoff batter George Springer, she was seen cheering, "Let's go, Paul!"

That attitude changed quickly. Springer send Skenes' third pitch over the left field wall — and Dunne appeared to let out some expletives as she appeared more dejected.

Are Livvy Dunne and Paul Skenes married?

No, Dunne and Skenes are not married.

The two have been dating for a few years as one of the more high-profile known athlete relationships, but they haven't yet tied the knot.

How long have Livvy Dunne and Paul Skenes been dating?

Dunne and Skenes have been dating since 2023, when Dunne was first seen wearing Skenes' No. 30 jersey during the College World Series, and Skenes later confirmed their relationship.

At that time, Dunne was still a star gymnast at LSU, while Skenes was coming off his last season pitching at the school before being drafted by the Pirates.

Paul Skenes 2026 stats

Skenes certainly hasn't been bad in 2026 so far — he's remained one of the best pitchers in the National League, especially when factoring out his ugly five-run outing vs. the Mets on Opening Day. In his eight following appearances following that game, Skenes allowed just six runs in total.

However, another recent five-run outing against the Phillies and the four runs he allowed to Toronto on Saturday has inflated Skenes' ERA back to 3.00. Even with most of Skenes' typically-dominant numbers being down a bit from 2025, he does own a 6-4 record thanks to increased run support from Pittsburgh's offense.
