The word on the street from Jason Gregor is that Zach Hyman is set to rejoin the family Saturday against the Utah Mammoth. The veteran left winger's been layin' low for six games after takin' a hit in the season opener against Vancouver, where he logged 20:33 with three shots and two hits before the books closed on him.
Hyman's return means Babcock's gotta shuffle the deck again. The two go way back to their Toronto days, so the skipper knows what the 31-goal man from last season brings to the table even as the miles pile up on the odometer.
Colton Dach and Jake Walman are also expected to dress. Dach, 23, needs activation off injured reserve after last seein' action October 3 with five shots and eight hits in three games. Walman, 30, aims to hit the ice for the first time since October 7, still huntin' his first points after four games.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jason Dickinson? They're on track for next week. After Saturday, the Oilers settle in for a five-game homestand startin' Wednesday against Minnesota.
Mickey's Angle: Hyman's return shakes up the lines—watch how Babcock deploys him early, and monitor Dach's IR activation for roster clues before puck drop.
