Jim Furyk posted an incredible, record-breaking 12-under 58 in 2016 at the Travelers Championship. While six players had previously shot 59 in a PGA Tour round at that point, Furyk became the first to shoot 58, earning him the "Mr. 58" distinction.

And he became the first player to ever shoot two sub-60 rounds in official golf tournaments (one of those six PGA Tour 59s belongs to Furyk, who posted his during the second round of the 2013 BMW Championship).

Jim Furyk celebrates after shooting a record-setting 58 during the final round of the Travelers Championship at TCP River Highlands on August 7, 2016.

There are a total of 14 rounds of 59 in the history of the PGA Tour, with the first coming when Al Geiberger turned the trick in 1977 at the Memphis Classic.

The most recent player to do so was Jake Knapp at the 2025 Cognizant Classic.
