The St. Louis Blues offered a trade package to the Dallas Stars that included multiple first-round picks in exchange for Jason Robertson, but the forward was not interested in signing with the Blues, according to Daily Faceoff’s Jeff Marek.

The failed trade was reported by Marek Thursday night, just one day ahead of the 2026 NHL Entry Draft, which will be held at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, N.Y. As of Friday morning, the Blues have four first-round picks (11th, 15th, 16th, 29th).

On Friday, Marek, who hosts The Sheet on The Nation Network, said he believes Robertson would prefer signing with Dallas, “but on his terms and with the number 14 beside his name.”

As for Jason Robertson, today is a new day. I do believe his preference is to stay with Dallas but on his terms and with the number 14 beside his name.

Could be another wild one today.

Earlier on Thursday, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported that Robertson turned down an eight-year contract offer by the Seattle Kraken, one that would have paid the 26-year-old winger “approximately $15 million per year.”

In 2025-26, Robertson scored 45 goals and added 51 assists for 96 points in 2025-26, then followed it with an impressive performance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, where he led the Stars with five goals and three assists for eight points in six games, averaging more than 23 minutes per game.

Through six full NHL seasons, Robertson has 213 goals and 277 assists for 490 points in 456 career regular-season games. So far, he’s posted three 40-goal campaigns and four seasons with at least 80 points.

He’s also scored 23 goals and 29 assists for 52 points in 62 playoff games.
