The Boston Bruins extended their winning streak to five games Saturday night, defeating the Los Angeles Kings 4-1 to complete a sweep of three California opponents.
Alex Laferriere opened the scoring just 31 seconds into the contest, notching his second goal of the season from the top of the crease off an Adrian Kempe assist. David Pastrnak answered at 2:43 of the second period, firing a wrist shot from the right circle to tie the game 1-1. The marker was his fourth goal of the season and his 289th even-strength tally, tying Phil Esposito for third-most in Boston history. Marat Khusnutdinov broke the deadlock with a backhander at 6:24 of the third period, and empty-net goals by Elias Lindholm and JJ Peterka sealed the result.
Jeremy Swayman stopped 25 shots for Boston, which concludes its four-game road swing Tuesday in Dallas. Anton Forsberg made 24 saves for Los Angeles, winless through six games and held to one goal for a fourth consecutive contest.
Pavel Zacha sat out with an upper-body injury suffered Friday versus the Ducks. Coach Marco Sturm described him as "day to day."
