Ex-England international Steven Caulker has turned to LinkedIn to voice concerns about prolonged unemployment between coaching positions.
The 34-year-old, who earned his sole England cap in a 2014 friendly against Sweden, posted Sunday about the toll of joblessness. His first appeal for work came in early October. "Applying for jobs for which I have all the qualifications yet am unable to get even an interview hurts," Caulker wrote.
Caulker made 123 Premier League appearances across six clubs from 2011 to 2016, scoring eight goals with two assists. The Tottenham youth product debuted in the top flight during a 2011 loan to Swansea City. He captained Cardiff City, joined permanently for 2013, then signed with Queens Park Rangers after Cardiff relegation. Further loans took him to Southampton in 2015 and Liverpool in January.
He has previously revealed struggles with gambling and alcoholism early in his playing days. His coaching résumé includes FC Málaga City in 2023, Stjarnan in 2025 and Konyaspor in 2026.
