John Harbaugh’s different tune on Malik Nabers’ recovery: Giants OTAs notebook | The Athletic
The offense emphasized hard counts Thursday, and Dart was proud he got the defense to jump offside multiple times. Defensive tackle Darius Alexander was the offending party in one instance, and the second-year pro did pushups after the period. The entire defense had to do 10 pushups after practice as a result of the penalties.
There was a clear divide at outside linebacker, with Brian Burns and Abdul Carter getting almost every rep with the first-team defense and Kayvon Thibodeaux working with the backups. Tremaine Edmunds and Arvell Reese were the starting inside linebackers. Edmunds, who signed in March as a free agent, and Reese, who was the fifth pick in this year’s draft, took every rep during install periods.

Potential NFL Trade Packages for Players Who Need a Fresh Start | Bleacher Report
Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux to San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco 49ers Receive: Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux. New York Giants Receive: 2027 Round 2 Pick
There were reports during the draft that the New Orleans Saints were interested in Thibodeaux, but trade talks fell apart when the Giants refused to move the fifth-year veteran for less than a second-round pick. That may seem a steep price for a player who missed seven games and had a career-low 2.5 sacks last year, but Thibodeaux logged 11.5 sacks in 2023.
The San Francisco 49ers are a Super Bowl contender with a pair of edge-rushers returning from ACL tears in Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams. If either experiences a setback this summer, that second-round pick might become a lot more palatable for a team in win-now mode playing in arguably the toughest division in the NFL.
John Harbaugh stresses a different kind of competition in non-contact offseason practices | Pro Football Talk
Giants coach John Harbaugh says he still wants to see players looking competitive. He just wants them competitive with themselves, trying to get better every day than they were the day before.
“There’s no there’s no contact at all,” Harbaugh said. “You got to work with the guys that do that because guys get fired up, they want to go and you got to make sure that you can’t get near the quarterback. You can’t pull and push guys. There’s no physical contests out here. There’s no competition in the sense of you’re competing one-on-one to make a play because there’s no contact, and football is a contact sport. So, it’s more about I’m competing against myself, my technique, my assignment, my ability to execute really fast.”
Why timing is right for NY Giants to sign Odell Beckham Jr. now | The Record
Odell Beckham Jr. and the New York Giants have been flirting with each other for nearly two months about a potential reunion.
John Harbaugh called Beckham “one of my very favorite people in the world,” having coached him for a year in Baltimore. Beckham wants more than anything to bring his NFL career full circle by catching passes from Jaxson Dart and providing a generation of Giants fans who never had the chance to say thank you and good-bye with that opportunity all these years later.

Fact or Fiction: Standouts from OTAs (so far) | Giants.com
LB Arvell Reese is the most physically impressive rookie you have seen up close at the start of his Giants career.
John Schmeelk: Fact – When Tremaine Edmunds walked into the facility for the first time as a free agent, I was gobsmacked by how big he was. He had a bigger frame than Kayvon Thibodeaux, who is not a small edge rusher. Arvell Reese is built much like Tremaine Edmunds. The two men stand next to each other behind the line of scrimmage at linebacker and you have to blink to make sure the Giants don’t have two smaller defensive ends lined up as stand-up rushers. They are gigantic. Their wingspans are going to give quarterbacks all sorts of problems finding passing windows in the middle of the field. I do feel duty-bound to point out, however, that Francis Mauigoa carries his 330 pounds extremely well. He’s not slim, but he does not carry a lot of excess weight. He looks very natural and in good physical shape at 330 pounds. It’s just how big of a human being he is.
NFC offseason grades: Giants and Rams understand the assignment | CBSSports.com
New York Giants: A. The most notable addition the Giants made this offseason was hiring former Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. This is the first time the franchise has hired a head coach who has previously won a Super Bowl. Harbaugh should immediately raise the floor while also getting the most out of what is an exciting group of young talent headlined by quarterback Jaxson Dart.
But Harbaugh was just the tip of the iceberg. In free agency, Harbaugh brought in former Ravens Isaiah Likely and Patrick Ricard while also adding veteran receiver Darnell Mooney. The Giants also traded up to draft wideout Malachi Fields in the third round. Losing Wan’Dale Robinson stings, but the return of Malik Nabers, along with Darius Slayton, keeps the receiver unit strong.
Dexter Lawrence was another notable departure after being traded to Cincinnati for the No. 10 overall pick, but New York has a surplus of talent along the defensive line, so moving on from him is palatable. That’s especially true after drafting linebacker Arvell Reese with the No. 5 overall pick. Meanwhile, the pick the Giants acquired in the Lawrence trade turned into Francis Mauigoa, who will further protect Dart along the offensive line. It’s hard not to love the moves Joe Schoen made this spring.
