Ryan Lambert showcased his potential during a scoreless appearance for the Surprise Saguaros on Friday, helping secure the club's seventh victory of the Arizona Fall League exhibition season.
The 24-year-old Mets relief prospect retired all three batters he faced in the top of the ninth inning. Lambert opened with a 97 mph fastball that produced a strikeout, then needed only five additional pitches to complete the frame.
Through three Fall League appearances, Lambert has recorded five strikeouts while permitting just one baserunner and no runs. The outing offered a positive sign for a pitcher who struggled during the 2025 Triple-A season, posting a 7.71 ERA and 9.98 walks per nine innings across 23 appearances while missing time with injury.
For his career, Lambert has averaged 13.5 strikeouts and 6.7 walks per nine innings. The Mets bullpen currently has openings heading into next season.
