The family's reign in Chavez Ravine is over. The Milwaukee Brewers marched into Los Angeles and put the Dodgers dynasty in the ground Thursday, closing out a four-game NLCS sweep with a 6-4 knockout that sent the two-time champs packing.
Miguel Rojas, still in full uniform an hour after the final out, told his crew he's hanging 'em up. Twelve stalls down, Tarik Skubal wasn't rushing to the exit either—free agency be damned.
Dave Roberts kept it straight with his soldiers: "We got outplayed in all facets." No lies detected. The Boys in Blue managed a pathetic .520 OPS for the series, went 4-for-27 with runners in scoring position, and watched Shohei Ohtani's 428-foot bomb in Game 4—his first homer since August—get swallowed whole by Milwaukee's relentless attack.
Garrett Mitchell's go-ahead blast off Tanner Scott sealed the coffin. The Brewers worked counts, stole bases, and never let the Dodgers breathe.
Max Muncy, eyes glassy, put it plain: "The train finally ran out of steam."
Three-peat's dead. The books are closed.
Mickey's Angle: The Dodgers' October bats were broken all season—don't expect the oddsmakers to forget that come spring, no matter how loud the offseason spending gets.
