The Broncos walked outta Seattle with the W, but don't let the 17-14 overtime score fool ya — the offense went ice cold faster than a stoolie in the East River.
Denver jumped out to a 14-0 lead with two early touchdown drives, then flatlined. Seven punts. Two first downs the rest of regulation. Ryan Fitzpatrick called Nix's night "garbage" on the Prime Video postgame show, and the numbers back the mouthy analysis: 17-of-27, 107 yards, longest completion 16 yards.
Nix ain't making excuses. He says the conservative approach ain't by design and he's scratching his head why they can't stretch the field. "I don't where the disconnect is right now to be honest with you," he told the press. He knows the defense is carrying the family and the offense gotta pull its weight.
The one bright spot? No turnovers. Seattle coughed it up three times, including the overtime pick that set up Denver's winning points. Sean Payton took over the playcalling and still can't get this crew humming.
Mickey's Angle: The Broncos are living off turnovers and defensive grit — that formula's got a short shelf life if Nix and Payton can't rediscover the explosive plays.
