The Broncos targeted this week's minicamp as a moment for quarterback Bo Nix to take on more of a role in practice as he continues to work his way back from a fractured ankle and that came to fruition on Tuesday.
Nix said it felt "great" to be back with the first team offense and that he thought the unit had a "very clean operation" after working with other quarterbacks for the last few weeks. Nix remained limited, but said it will not take much for him to do everything.
"I could go full go right now if they wanted me too," Nix said.
Nix had a second surgery this offseason after bone spurs began "aggravating" him. He said he could have played out the whole season before addressing the issue, but the determination was made that it was the best time to do it.
"It was hard because I wanted to be full speed so fast. Just wanted to go ahead and get it out of the way for good," Nix said.
Nix said that he "may move around a little bit better" as a result of the surgery and that he's feeling the best he's felt physically in a few years, so the ankle shouldn't be an issue once the team regroups for camp this summer.
