Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is wearing a red practice jersey, meaning he is injured and should not be touched. That apparently doesn't mean Nabers can't lay a lick on a "defensive back."

Nabers, who is rehabbing from last season's torn ACL, inadvertently hit Giants wide receivers coach Chad Hall in the face with his helmet during an individual drill.

"We have a rule that everybody respects the red jersey for Malik, obviously," coach John Harbaugh said Thursday. "In individual, Chad was [working as a] DB, and Malik was releasing off of Chad. Somehow, they crossed signals on which way they were going. Malik went to punch his way through, arm over, and caught Chad right in the face. Chad Hall took stitches on the field. Tough dude."

The collision left Hall with a bloodied mouth and lip.

He not only received stitches on the sideline, so he could continue coaching in practice, Hall also did his media availability after practice.

"The Novocaine’s wearing off a little bit," Hall said, via Art Stapleton of northjersey.com.
