Lions quarterback Jared Goff is closing in on 40,000 career passing yards.
Goff has 39,828 passing yards, the most in the league since he entered the NFL as the first overall pick in the 2016 draft. With 172 yards tonight against the Bills, he'll have 40,000 in his career.
Tonight will be Goff's 153rd career game, and it would tie him with Kirk Cousins and Dan Marino, both of whom also reached 40,000 career passing yards in their 153rd games. They're tied for the fourth-fastest to 40,000 yards in NFL history.
Matthew Stafford, the quarterback for whom Goff was famously traded, was the fastest to 40,000 yards, getting there in 147 games. Matt Ryan is next at 151 games, followed by Drew Brees at 152 games.
Goff passed for 18,171 yards in his five years with the Rams and is now at 21,657 yards at the start of his sixth year with the Lions.
