Packers quarterback Jordan Love entered Week 3 with the lowest completion percentage among qualifying starters, at 52.1. Thursday night's game didn't improve it very much.
After connecting on 28 of 53 passes against the Falcons (52. 8 percent), Love increased his season-to-date completion rate to 52.4 percent.
Last year, Love completed 66.3 percent of his throws.
The inability of the offensive line to buy Love sufficient time to operate is surely a factor. On Thursday night, the deep hole the Packers dug also forced them to skew even more heavily away from the running game. Green Bay had only nine rushing attempts for the game.
The Packers have a little extra time to figure things out before the Week 4 game at Tampa Bay. Still, the early-season trend is troubling, and the pressure will surely increase on the player who is tied for the third-highest salary among all quarterbacks, with a new-money average of $55 million.
