The Panthers are adding a veteran linebacker to their 53-man roster ahead of their Week 2 game against the Falcons.
They announced that they have signed Tyrel Dodson. Dodson signed to the practice squad after being released by the Dolphins at the end of camp and waiting to add him to the active roster after Week 1 means the Panthers avoided guaranteeing his salary for the entire season.
Dodson had 129 tackles, five sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 16 starts for Miami last season.
The Panthers waived wide receiver Jimmy Horn in a corresponding move. The 2025 sixth-round pick had 11 catches last season and muffed a punt in Carolina's Week 1 loss to the Bears.
