Kyle Hamilton is listed as a safety on the Ravens' roster, but the team has him in a different spot on their Week 1 depth chart.

Hamilton is listed as a defensive back while Jaylinn Hawkins and Malaki Starks are listed as the starters at safety. Safeties are defensive backs, so it's not a significant difference but the distinction says a lot about how the Ravens plan to use Hamilton.

Shortly after head coach Jesse Minter joined the organization, he said that Hamilton is a player that you want to deploy "near the point of attack" and that he views him as a "positionless" player. That points to Hamilton lining up in a variety of spots over the course of Minter's first season on the job and the team's depth chart reflects that.

If all goes well, Hamilton will make an impact alongside defensive lineman Nnamdi Madubuike. He's listed as a starter after returning to team drills last week for the first time since having neck surgery.

The only unsettled starting spot on the defense is at linebacker. Trenton Simpson and Teddye Buchanan are both listed on the first-team with Roquan Smith.
