The Texans outplayed the Cowboys in the first half, and if not for seven penalties for 51 yards, it might be worse for Dallas.
The Texans lead 16-6 at halftime.
They have outgained the Cowboys 204 to 121 yards, with three sacks of Dak Prescott, eight quarterback hits and an intentional grounding.
C.J. Stroud has picked on Cowboys cornerback DaRon Bland, throwing away from Joey Porter Jr., who was acquired in a trade last week. The Texans quarterback is 9-of-14 for 163 yards and a touchdown.
Wide receiver Nico Collins, who missed the past two games with a hamstring injury, has four catches for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn has field goals of 51, 39 and 54 yards, with his final kick coming on the final play of the half after Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey missed a 65-yarder with 26 seconds left. Will Anderson blocked Aubrey's 62-yard try on the Cowboys' previous possession.
Prescott is 12-of-20 for 87 yards. CeeDee Lamb has six catches for 49 yards, but George Pickens does not have a reception yet. Javonte Williams has seven carries for 36 yards.
