New Orleans Pelicans center Yves Missi sustained a left knee injury during Friday night's game against the Utah Jazz and will undergo re-evaluation Saturday.
The injury occurred with 6:30 remaining in the second quarter after teammate Zion Williamson fell into Missi's leg following a shot blocked by Jaxson Hayes. Missi was seen holding his knee and writhing on the baseline, unable to put weight on the left leg. He was carried off the court and assisted to the locker room before being ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
Missi had posted 5.7 points and 5.8 rebounds last season. In his season debut against Indiana, he recorded 13 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and three blocks, though the Pelicans fell 123-120.
Pelicans coach Jamahl Mosley received a technical foul for protesting a no-call after a Keyonte George three-pointer.
