With the signing, Cholowski will have the chance to join a select group of players, as he could become just the 12th player in NHL history to dress for the Rangers, New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils. Notable names like Kevin Weekes, P.A. Parenteau and Michael Grabner have also competed for all three teams in the Tri-State area.

Cholowski is coming to Long Island after spending a little over a year with the Devils. He was on a one-year deal last year with a cap hit of $775,000. He appeared in 17 games with New Jersey, posting two assists, registering a plus/minus of -6 while averaging 14:40 of ice time per game. He also played in 13 games with the Devils’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Utica Comets, registering five assists, with a -6 rating as well.

The Langley, B.C. native spent parts of three seasons with the Islanders, playing in 33 games with the club during the 2024-25 campaign before being traded to the Devils for Adam Beckman ahead of the trade deadline.

Cholowski was originally taken in the first round, 20th overall, by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2016 NHL Draft. He has appeared in 173 regular-season games, scoring 13 goals and 42 points, and has appeared in two Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Devils in 2025. In 266 AHL contests, he has registered 18 goals and 131 points.
