The growing phenomenon of player podcasts in sports has once again made its way to the NHL.
On Wednesday, Detroit Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider and Ottawa Senators center Tim Stutzle, two of the NHL’s brightest young stars, announced that they are starting a hockey podcast titled simply Seider & Stutzle.
Seider and Stutzle, who hail from Germany, will host the podcast in German with an intended audience of German-speaking hockey fans.
In the trailer for the podcast that was released on YouTube, Seider and Stutzle stated that they will be discussing the NHL, the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), which is the top professional hockey league in Germany, and the upcoming 2027 IIHF World Championship which will be held in the German cities of Dusseldorf, Gelsenkirchen, and Mannheim next May.
Seider & Stutzle is the second podcast to be hosted by current NHL players. Florida Panthers forwards and brothers Matthew and Brady Tkachuk started their podcast Wingmen in November of 2025, back when Brady was still a member of the Senators. Wingmen generated its fair share of controversy, with Keith Tkachuk, former NHLer and father of Matthew and Brady, appearing on the podcast in April and seemingly making disparaging comments about the Senators team. After Ottawa traded Brady to Florida in June, Elliotte Friedman reported that the podcast had “caused some problems” within the Senators dressing room.
Ottawa will once again have one of its top players co-hosting a podcast, and can only hope that Seider & Stutzle doesn’t create unwanted headlines in the way Wingmen did.
Seider, 25, had 10 goals and 50 assists for 60 points in 82 games last season, and finished fifth in voting for the Norris Trophy.
Stutzle, 24, notched 34 goals and 49 assists for a team-leading 83 points in 80 games.
The Red Wings will host the New York Rangers on Friday for their first game of the season, while the Senators will visit the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday for their opener.
