The San Jose Sharks announced Wednesday they signed goaltender Eric Comrie to a two-year, $2.3-million deal that will carry an annual average value of $1.15 million.
Comrie, 30, went 12-11-1 with a .890 save percentage (SV%) and a -0.7 goals saved above expected (GSAx) in 25 appearances with the Winnipeg Jets in 2025-26.
Across 10 NHL seasons, Comrie, an Edmonton native, has a career record of 45-47-4 with an .896 SV% and 3.11 goals against average (GAA) in 102 appearances with the Jets, Buffalo Sabres, New Jersey Devils and Detroit Red Wings. He’s also made three Stanley Cup Playoff appearances.

Comrie, a 2013 second-round pick with the Jets, has spent the majority of his professional career in the American Hockey League. Across 10 seasons, he’s put together a 94-95-34 record with a .912 SV% and 2.81 GAA in 214 games with the St. John’s IceCaps, Manitoba Moose, Tucson Roadrunners and Rochester Americans.
In parts of five seasons playing junior hockey in the Western Hockey League, Comrie went 85-64-15 with a .916 SV% and 2.67 GAA in 168 career regular-season games with the Tri-City Americans. He was named to the WHL’s West Second All-Star Team in 2013-14 and 2014-15, and led the league in save percentage in 2014.
Internationally, he represented Canada on multiple occasions, including the 2015 World Junior Championship, where he earned a gold medal. He also earned a silver medal at the 2017 World Championships.
The Sharks later signed forward Andre Gasseau to a two-year contract extension. The 6-foot-4 forward had 23 points in 23 games with Boston College this year, and should give the Barracuda some much-needed size this coming season.
The Sharks also acquired defenseman Darnell Nurse from the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday in exchange for defenseman Shakir Mukhamadullin and Zack Sharp.
