New England running back Rhamondre Stevenson stands 29 carries shy of joining an exclusive club of Patriots backs with six consecutive seasons of 100 or more rushing attempts. Jim Nance, Sam Cunningham and Tony Collins are the only players to have reached that mark.
The 28-year-old Las Vegas native has developed into one of the league's most reliable pass protectors at his position. ESPN Analytics and NFL Next Gen Stats show Stevenson ranks third among running backs in pass block wins over the past five seasons with 197, trailing only Kyren Williams and Saquon Barkley. His protection helped enable a 39-yard Drake Maye completion to DeMario Douglas against the Jets.
New England (4-2) visits Chicago (4-2) on Thursday at 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime. The Patriots rank sixth in the NFL in rushing yards per game at 130.7.
Coach Mike Vrabel, hired in 2025, identified Stevenson as a player to retain. Stevenson credits Bill Belichick, Josh McDaniels and James White as his primary professional influences. "If you can protect on third down, you're going to play," Stevenson said.
Stevenson sits fourth on the Patriots' all-time rushing list.
