Phoenix Suns third-year center Oso Ighodaro confirmed Friday that his representatives are discussing a potential contract extension with the team.
"Yeah, we're talking about it," Ighodaro said, according to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic. The Arizona native added that he hopes to remain with the franchise, responding affirmatively when asked about staying in Phoenix.
Ighodaro, 24, signed a four-year minimum-salary deal after being selected 40th overall in the 2024 draft. He earns $2.3 million this season, with the Suns holding a $2.5 million option for 2027/28. He remains extension-eligible through June 30, 2027, though Monday marks the deadline for any in-season agreement to include that fourth-year option. The Suns would need to decline the 2027/28 option to complete an extension now.
In his 2024/25 rookie campaign, Ighodaro appeared in all 82 regular season games while playing both power forward and center. He posted 6.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks per game in 22.0 minutes of action, with shooting splits of 65.3 percent from the field and 45.3 percent from the line.
