Paris Saint-Germain handed Barcelona a 4-2 defeat on Tuesday, ending the Spanish side's 11-match winning streak in all competitions.
PSG maintained its 100% win record in this season's Champions League with goals from Vitinha and a pair of late strikes from Fabián Ruiz. Barcelona's Xavi Espart and Lamine Yamal found the net for the hosts.
Anthony Gordon offered an honest appraisal of the result, noting that PSG had better moments and more quality. He said the French side played better for longer stretches and sustained its athletic pressure and intensity throughout the contest. Gordon told TNT Sport that he thought PSG deserved the result in the end.
The loss came after manager Hansi Flick had challenged Barcelona to compete with Europe's elite. Gordon acknowledged that Barcelona want to emulate PSG, who he called the team to beat for two years, but said there remains plenty of room for improvement following what he termed a competitive spectacle.
Barcelona will look to rebound in Sunday's Clasico against Real Madrid.
