Barcelona extended its flawless start to the season to 11 victories across all competitions after defeating Real Betis 5-2.
Teenager Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the victory. The 19-year-old has now recorded 8 goals and 6 assists in 9 LaLiga appearances this campaign. Barcelona has scored 39 times in those 9 league matches, with no other LaLiga club within 20 goals of that total. Real Betis, by comparison, has managed 23 fewer goals despite winning 6 of its 9 matches.
Manager Hansi Flick moved Raphinha to striker this season, and Raphinha has responded with 14 goals in all competitions to lead the European Golden Shoe standings. Raphinha missed the last 3 matches. Summer arrivals Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, Gabriel Jesus and Rodri have combined for 7 LaLiga goals. Defensively, only 5 teams have allowed fewer goals than Barcelona.
Yamal was involved in 27 LaLiga goals last season, which was considered a down year. Barcelona now turns its attention to next week's Clasico against Real Madrid.
