Arizona running back Jeremiyah Love will miss Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams with a left ankle injury, coach Mike LaFleur announced Friday.
Love did not practice Wednesday or Thursday. LaFleur said he knew Sunday was a "long shot" all along for the back, whose ankle was "not improving and maybe even getting a little bit worse." The injury first became visually evident during Arizona's loss at the New York Giants.
LaFleur noted Love cuts hard and his left foot is just not right right now. The coach added that the team has to do what's right for the player.
The Cardinals have not discussed placing Love on injured reserve. He will be reevaluated Monday ahead of Arizona's Week 7 matchup with the Broncos.
Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight will handle backfield duties against the Rams in the Week 6 contest.
