The Indianapolis Colts dismissed general manager Chris Ballard and will evaluate trade offers for several veterans ahead of the Nov. 10 deadline.
Owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon installed Ed Dodds as chief of personnel. The Colts intend to pursue victories at Minnesota, at Jacksonville and against the Cowboys to remain in postseason contention. Should those efforts fail, Dodds and Irsay-Gordon will collaborate on moving assets.
Running back Jonathan Taylor, 27, has drawn interest from the Packers, Seahawks, Vikings and Broncos. Green Bay previously explored acquiring Taylor in August 2023. "Irsay-Gordon views Taylor as a key part of the organization." Taylor is owed approximately $7 million for the remainder of this season, $16 million next season and nearly $18 million in 2028.
Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, 32, could return to San Francisco, where he played from 2016 to 2019 before the Colts acquired him for the 13th overall selection. He has collected a $10 million roster bonus and is due the balance of a $13 million base salary. Guard Quenton Nelson, tackle Grover Stewart and receiver Keenan Allen also face uncertain futures in Indianapolis.
