Washington Commanders running back Croskey-Merritt will miss Monday's game against the San Francisco 49ers due to a groin injury, coach Dan Quinn announced.
Croskey-Merritt did not practice all week after re-injuring a prior groin issue. He also missed the final two preseason games with the same injury. In Week 5 against the Giants, he carried 11 times for 82 yards but received only one carry after the third quarter of the 27-27 tie. He leads Washington with 239 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns this season.
Running back Jeremy McNichols is traveling to San Francisco and could be activated from injured reserve Monday. McNichols started the season on IR with a quad injury suffered this summer.
Other injury updates include Austin Ekeler, who was limited in practice with a chest issue, and Rachaad White, who was limited Friday after a full Thursday session due to a shoulder problem. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs is questionable with a hamstring after limited work Friday; Diggs, McLaurin and Daniels have not played together since Week 2.
Cornerback Trey Amos and safety Nick Cross, both out since Week 2, practiced fully and could return from injured reserve. Cross has been sidelined with an internal injury.
