The New Jersey Devils beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-1 on Saturday, earning their third straight win and fifth victory in six games.

Brett Pesce scored his first goal this season at 8:08 of the third period to put the Devils ahead, with assists from Luke Evangelista and Artemy Gritsyuk. Anthony Mantha tied the game with his third goal about three minutes after Scott Laughton gave Los Angeles the lead at 15:57 of the second period. Laughton's second goal snapped a two-game winning streak for the Kings.

Gritsyuk added an empty-net goal at 18:55 for his team-leading sixth goal. Jake Allen made 12 saves and improved to 5-2-0. Remi Poirier dressed as Allen's backup and has yet to play an NHL game. Anton Forsberg made 23 saves for the Kings.

Connor Hellebuyck was introduced before the game. The newly acquired goaltender is 33 years old and had 345 wins in 11 seasons with Winnipeg. He is a three-time Vezina Trophy winner. Nico Daws, who was included in the trade for Hellebuyck, won against Anaheim on Thursday.
