The Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays meet tonight in Cleveland for Game 5 of their series after rain in northeast Ohio pushed the contest back from Friday. The start time is 5:08 p.m. Eastern.
The series is guaranteed at least six games and cannot end tonight. The Rays evened the series Saturday night with a 7-3 victory in Game 4. Cleveland used opener Shawn Armstrong, a former Oriole, among seven pitchers total in the loss. Tampa Bay won with a "real starting pitcher."
The Milwaukee Brewers, awaiting the AL representative for the 2026 World Series, will not play again until Friday regardless.
The Orioles face 157 days until their next scheduled game amid 2027 season uncertainty and expected labor rhetoric. The 2026 Orioles saw catching duo Adley Rutschman and Samuel Basallo separated mid-season. Outfield improvement is likely via trade, not free agency. Yaqui Rivera is a possible unexpected 40-man roster addition.
Former Orioles born today include Jordyn Adams, Garrett Olson, Alan Mills, Terry Clark and Ed Farmer.
