World Series Game 2 | Tampa Bay Rays at Milwaukee Brewers | American Family Field | Sat Oct 24, 8:00 PM ET | Fox
MIL leads series 1-0.
Game 1 was exactly the kind of game you'd expect when two good pitching staffs meet in October. Nick Martinez went 5.0 innings, gave up 5 hits, 2 earned, walked nobody, struck out 5 on 73 pitches. Solid. Just not enough. Jacob Misiorowski matched him – 5.0 IP, 4 hits, 1 earned, 78 pitches – and got the win. Then Aaron Ashby came on and threw 1.2 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts on just 20 pitches. That's a weapon. Trevor Megill closed it out for the save. Final: MIL 3, TB 2.
Jonathan Aranda went 3-3 with a walk for Tampa Bay and Liam Hicks drove in 2 despite going 0-4. Jackson Chourio and William Contreras each had 2 hits for Milwaukee. Close game, could've gone either way.
Tonight: Drew Rasmussen (W-2, ERA 1.29) goes for Tampa Bay against Logan Henderson (W-0, ERA 3.00) for Milwaukee. Rasmussen's numbers are sharp. Henderson is the unknown here – the matchup favors TB on paper if those numbers mean what they look like.
On the line: DraftKings opened MIL -119, sitting -120 now. TB opened -101, now +100. Total opened 6.5, still 6.5. Market hasn't moved much, which tells me nobody has strong conviction tonight.
The real question for me is how deep Rasmussen goes and what Milwaukee's bullpen looks like after Ashby and Megill both worked last night.
Who do you trust more tonight – Rasmussen's ERA or Milwaukee's home-field bullpen depth?
