Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas was benched for the entire second half during Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Texans in London, head coach Liam Coen confirmed.

Thomas, a 2024 first-round pick, managed just three targets in the first half and recorded zero catches with one drop. The expanded role for Travis Hunter came at the expense of Thomas, who produced his most productive offensive day of the season.

Coen described his confidence in Thomas as shifting from game to game. The coach also said players need to elevate their performance when opportunities arise.

Thomas also finished with zero catches in Week 5. The back-to-back performances without a reception have fueled speculation about his future in Jacksonville, though Jaguars general manager James Gladstone had called trade chatter surrounding Thomas "fraudulent" in March.

Recent weeks have suggested possible conversations about Thomas's future with the organization despite Gladstone's earlier dismissal of trade rumors.
