The Orlando Magic waived guards Malaki Branham and JD Davison and forward Kevin Knox, the team announced in a press release.
All three players had signed Exhibit 10 contracts, which would have made them eligible for bonuses up to $91K had they spent at least 60 days with the Osceola Magic in the G League. Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel first reported the moves.
Branham, a 2022 first-round pick out of Ohio State, previously played for San Antonio and Washington. Davison, selected 53rd overall in 2022 from Alabama, saw time with Boston and Houston. Knox, 27, was the ninth overall selection in 2018 and spent the 2025/26 season entirely in the G League with the Windy City Bulls, where he averaged 21.4 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists across 39 games.
Each player appeared in all four Orlando preseason games this fall, with Branham leading the group at 11.0 minutes per contest. The Magic currently sit $2.5MM below the second tax apron; retaining any of the three would have brought Orlando within approximately $47K of that threshold.
