ESPN's Bobby Marks has assembled a 12-man roster of players poised to cash in during the 2027 offseason, a group headlined by Memphis Grizzlies guard Ty Jerome.
Jerome, 29, is averaging 28.2 points through the early weeks of 2026-27 after playing just 15 games last season. He holds a $9.7 million player option for 2027-28 and could command up to four years and $72.3 million on the open market if he declines it.
Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet also starts, averaging 6.8 assists with only 1.0 turnovers despite his lowest scoring output since 2018-19. Marks predicts Houston will re-sign VanVleet after a deep playoff run.
Other notable selections include Milwaukee Bucks guard Ryan Rollins, whose numbers have dipped but who posted career highs in 2025-26; Brooklyn Nets forward Otto Porter, whom Marks projects will be traded to a contender before the February 11 deadline; and Detroit Pistons center Paul Reed, who has capitalized on increased minutes to shoot a career-best 65% from the field.
Marks excluded former All-Stars and All-NBA selections, removing names like Anthony Davis, Karl-Anthony Towns, Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James from consideration.
Mickey's Angle: Keep an eye on the February 11 trade deadline for Porter and watch Jerome's player-option decision closely; his early Bird rights situation makes Memphis's negotiating position tricky if he keeps scoring like this.
