New Cavaliers forward Peyton Watson wants to bring a harder edge to his new club.
Watson, who arrived from Denver in a sign-and-trade, told Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com that his approach is simple: compete relentlessly. "Just to go out there with a mean streak," he said.
He warned against friendly on-court relationships with opponents, noting the league's rising competitiveness. Watson stressed that rivals are gunning for what Cleveland has.
Beyond attitude, Watson pointed to durability and chemistry as keys to a title run. He called staying available through a full season the biggest challenge and said the roster has the right personalities to handle it. The focus now shifts from talk to action.
Mickey's Angle: Cleveland needed an injection of edge after falling short; Watson's mentality could shift the locker room culture if the young forward earns minutes and backs up the bark.
