ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Josh Allen accounted for three touchdowns and the Buffalo Bills turned a sluggish start into a dominant 36-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
The win came at a steep cost for Baltimore. Lamar Jackson injured his right thumb on the opening snap, jamming it against the arm of Greg Rousseau, and will require surgery. Coach Jesse Minter said Jackson will be placed on injured reserve and could miss the remainder of the season. Backup Tyler Huntley then left with a toe injury in the second quarter, forcing undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano into his NFL debut.
Allen broke Jim Kelly's franchise record with his 260th career touchdown pass and earned his 102nd win through nine seasons, passing Tom Brady for third all-time. DJ Moore and Dalton Kincaid added scoring catches.
Buffalo's much-maligned defense responded with three turnovers, four sacks, and held Baltimore to 144 yards. The AFC East-leading Bills improved to 6-1.
The Ravens dropped to 4-4 and face a short week hosting Jacksonville on Thursday night.
Mickey's Angle: Buffalo's second-half explosion and defensive awakening are real positives, but Baltimore's QB situation makes this a tough game to weigh going forward — the Bills get Minnesota next, while the Ravens are in crisis mode.
