The Cleveland Browns activated quarterback Dillon Gabriel off injured reserve Monday, swelling their quarterback room to four on the 53-man roster.
Gabriel, a 2025 third-round pick, landed on IR with a back injury at the late-August roster cutdown. He returned to practice Oct. 6 and now slots in behind Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders and rookie Taylen Green.
Watson has started all seven games for the AFC North-leading Browns (5-2) after winning the training camp battle. Sanders has been the backup, while Green, a sixth-rounder, has handled emergency duties on game days.
Gabriel brings 10 career appearances and six starts, having completed 110 of 185 passes for 937 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie.
With four passers now active, Cleveland has unusual depth at the position heading into the second half.
Mickey's Angle: Four QBs on a 53-man roster is rare roster math—expect one to be inactive or headed elsewhere soon, and keep an eye on whether Gabriel gets any real run or is just insurance.
