Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Jalen Brooks announced on social media that he will undergo season-ending wrist surgery.
"Have to get an emergency surgery on my wrist," Brooks wrote. "I'll be done for the season." He added that he did not want phone calls, only prayers.
Brooks, 26, played 64 percent of the offensive snaps in Sunday's game and recorded one catch for 35 yards before suffering the injury. The trade of Marvin Harrison Jr. had opened up additional playing time for Brooks, who finishes his fourth NFL season with five catches for 81 yards.
The Cardinals now face a thin wide receiver depth chart. Michael Wilson, Kendrick Bourne and Reggie Virgil are the only remaining wideouts on the active roster who have recorded a catch this season.
Mickey's Angle: Arizona's passing game takes a hit with Brooks gone and Harrison Jr. already out the door. Fantasy managers and bettors should monitor whether the Cardinals add a receiver before the trade deadline or lean heavier on their tight ends and backfield.
