The Giants will be without linebacker Tremaine Edmunds for Sunday's matchup against Houston, and the loss extends well beyond Week 7.
Edmunds was ruled out Friday with a shoulder injury. Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports the injury is expected to end Edmunds's season. The linebacker signed with New York this offseason and recorded 50 tackles and two sacks through six games. Micah McFadden is expected to take over as starter.
New York's injury report runs deeper. Cornerback Greg Newsome (concussion) is also ruled out, while tight end Theo Johnson (neck) is doubtful. Cornerback Paulson Adebo (knee), right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (calf), safety Jevon Holland (concussion), offensive lineman Marcus Mbow (knee), and safety Tyler Nubin (neck) are all listed as questionable.
Mickey's Angle: The Giants' defense faces a major test without Edmunds's production and leadership. McFadden has big shoes to fill, and the cluster of secondary injuries could leave Houston's passing attack with openings to exploit.
