The Dallas Cowboys will welcome linebacker DeMarvion Overshown back to the lineup for Monday night's matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Overshown has missed five games recovering from a hamstring injury.
"I've definitely taken this rehab, this recovery, very serious," Overshown said. He added that he has been pushing to return since shortly after the injury occurred.
The return comes at a needed time for Dallas, but the linebacker corps will still be shorthanded. Dee Winters will miss this week's action after straining his Achilles in the loss to Green Bay.
Overshown has dealt with extensive injury issues throughout his four-year career, playing in just 20 games while missing 38. When available, he has recorded 125 tackles, five sacks, one interception, four passes defensed and one forced fumble.
Mickey's Angle: Overshown's return helps a thin Cowboys defense, but his injury history makes him a risky fantasy or betting prop target until he proves he can stay on the field.
