Green Bay receiver Christian Watson delivered a career milestone before a frightening exit in the second quarter.
Watson hauled in a 53-yard strike from Jordan Love with 9:11 left in the half, landing on the ball as Panthers rookie cornerback Will Lee also fell on him. Both players stayed down. Watson clutched his chest and walked to the training room, but was later transported by ambulance to a local hospital for precautionary evaluation. The Packers listed him as questionable with a chest injury.
The catch pushed Watson to six receptions for 100 yards on the night and a career-high 695 receiving yards for the season. Green Bay cashed in on the next play with Josh Jacobs' 1-yard touchdown run to take a 13-10 lead.
Lee fared worse, grabbing his left hamstring and requiring a cart when he could not bear weight. Carolina ruled him doubtful to return. Chau Smith-Wade replaced Lee, already the fourth cornerback lost by the Panthers. Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson and Akayleb Evans are all on injured reserve.
Mickey's Angle: Monitor Watson's status closely if you're holding Packers futures—his connection with Love has become Green Bay's most explosive weapon.
