The Seattle Seahawks acquired three-time All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson from the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday, sending a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick to Indianapolis.
Nelson, 30, has made the Pro Bowl in each of his first eight seasons since being drafted sixth overall in 2018. He brings immediate credibility to a Seahawks offensive line that ranks 21st in pass block win rate and has allowed significant pressure on quarterback Sam Darnold.
The Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles also showed interest in Nelson, sources said.
Nelson has played exclusively left guard in the NFL, which creates an interesting situation in Seattle. Grey Zabel, the Seahawks' 2025 first-round pick, currently starts at left guard, though he played right guard in college. Anthony Bradford has manned right guard since 2023.
The Colts, coming off the firing of general manager Chris Ballard, appear headed for a roster reboot. Rookie Jalen Farmer is expected to step into Nelson's spot.
Seattle sits at 4-3, two games behind San Francisco in the NFC West.
Mickey's Angle: Schneider's done it again—Nelson's a proven commodity, but figuring out where he and Zabel both fit is the puzzle to watch.
