The Seattle Seahawks will be without starting left tackle Charles Cross for the immediate future after he suffered a high-ankle sprain during Sunday night's victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Cross exited the game and did not return. Multiple reports Monday confirmed the severity of the injury, though head coach Mike Macdonald told Seattle Sports that the team has not finalized any timetable for his recovery.
Josh Jones stepped in for Cross on Sunday night and is expected to remain the starter during Cross's absence.
Cross has been remarkably durable since Seattle selected him in the first round of the 2022 draft. He has started all 69 games he has played for the Seahawks and had not missed a start this season prior to the injury.
The Seahawks will need to protect quarterback Geno Smith without one of their most reliable linemen as they push through the remainder of their schedule.
Mickey's Angle: Seattle's offensive line depth gets tested here. Keep an eye on how Jones holds up in pass protection before backing the Seahawks in any shootout spots.
