Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons is tuning out trade speculation as the November 10 deadline approaches.
Simmons signed a three-year extension this offseason, yet his name has surfaced in trade discussions given Tennessee's 1-6 start. The team appears headed for another rough finish, fueling talk that it might move veterans to acquire future assets.
When asked Wednesday, Simmons said he has received no indication a move is coming. "As far as I know, I am going to be here," he said via the team's website. He added that he focuses only on what he can control and considers outside chatter a distraction.
Simmons noted he has not heard from his agent or the organization about any potential deal.
Of course, circumstances can shift quickly. A contending team seeking defensive line help could still make an aggressive offer before the window closes.
Mickey's Angle: Simmons sounds like a man who expects to stay, but the Titans' record makes everyone available at the right price. Keep an eye on this one if you're tracking roster moves for fantasy or futures.
