The Vikings started strong with a big kickoff return, but their gamble on fourth-and-1 backfired when Aaron Jones was stopped for a loss. The Colts capitalized on the turnover on downs, with Daniel Jones converting two third downs before Jonathan Taylor broke free for a 38-yard touchdown to give Indianapolis an early lead in Minneapolis.
