Brothers and sisters, the books aren't doing us any favors today. Here's what you need to know before you put your twenty down.

Bengals at Ravens (1 PM, CBS)
Biggest story on the board. Lamar Jackson (Ravens QB) is out with an ankle injury, per the ESPN injury report. Baltimore opened as a 3.5-point favorite. Right now Cincinnati is a 3-point favorite — full flip, and the total dropped from 52.5 to 46.5. The Bengals also come in off 14 days of rest after their bye.

What it means for you: The current spread sits right on 3, one of the key numbers in this league — so many NFL games land on that margin that being on the wrong side of it hurts more than usual.

Cleveland Browns at Tennessee Titans (1 PM, CBS)
Tennessee opened as a 2.5-point home favorite. Cleveland is now a 2.5-point favorite — full flip. Total dropped from 40.5 to 36.5. Weather is fine at 67 degrees. Tyjae Spears (Titans RB) is questionable with a knee, Calvin Ridley (Titans WR) is questionable with a hip. Something moved this line hard and it isn't fully explained in the injury reports yet.

What it means for you: A favorite flip usually means the market got quarterback or star news; the bet you'd have made at open is a completely different bet now.

Indianapolis Colts at Minnesota Vikings (1 PM, CBS)
Minnesota opened minus-3 and sits at minus-7. Total dropped from 47.5 to 41.5. The Vikings are off a bye with 14 days of rest. Tyler Warren (Colts TE) is out with a groin injury; Anthony Gould (Colts WR) is out with a concussion. The spread landed right on 7, another key number.

What it means for you: When a total drops this far, chasing the under now means you're paying the worst price of the week, not the best.

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions (4:25 PM, Fox)
Detroit comes in off a bye with 14 days of rest. The total opened at 50.5 and sits at 55.5 — a big rise. Spread moved from Detroit minus-1.5 to minus-3.5, crossing through the key number 3. Luke Musgrave (Packers TE) is out with a neck injury.

What it means for you: A bye gives a team extra days to heal and scheme, and the market already priced that in when the line moved — the rest edge is real, but you're not getting it cheap anymore.

Kansas City Chiefs at Seattle Seahawks (8:20 PM, NBC)
Spread hasn't budged — Seattle minus-3 at open, Seattle minus-3 now. Total dropped from 45.5 to 42.5. Zach Charbonnet (Seahawks RB) has been ruled out, per ESPN headline. Rashee Rice (Chiefs WR) is out with a hamstring. Cloudy and 56 degrees at Lumen Field.

What it means for you: When the spread sits still like this, the market hasn't found a reason to move it — no rush, take your time and shop a few books before kickoff.

Stay sharp out there. Which of these moves surprised you most this morning?
