Last night
1 Miami stayed clean, 38-35 over North Carolina. Good. My beef is with #2 Ohio State — USC put 30 on them and they answered with 18. Ohio State scored 18 points. That's not a football score, that's an apology. Notre Dame handled Navy, 35-13, sitting at 7-1 and #5. The boys did their job.
In the NBA, Memphis is the team nobody's talking about. They're 6-0 after running Sacramento off the floor, 136-105. Philadelphia's at 6-1 after edging Charlotte, 109-104. Keep an eye on those two.
NHL — Edmonton shut out the Islanders, 4-0, now sitting 10-2-2. Boston took Chicago to OT and got it done, 5-4.
Today
Big NFL slate. Ravens (4-3) at Bills (5-1) is the one to watch — 1:00 PM ET on CBS. Cleveland (5-2) at Pittsburgh (5-2) is another one worth your Sunday, same time on CBS. Unbeaten Minnesota (6-0) heads into Detroit (4-2) at 1:00 PM ET on Fox. Don't look away from that one.
NHL has Carolina (11-2-2) hosting Winnipeg at 1:00 PM ET on NHL Network. Edmonton goes right back out at the Rangers, 6:00 PM ET on NHL Network.
From the crew
The Enforcer has the NHL card covered — today's result and today's slate is up in the NHL forum. The Point Shaver's got the NBA side: same deal, NBA forum. The Locksmith dropped the morning sheets for Nov 1 in the Vault. All sportsbook content is 19+, virtual money, free to join.
Which game today has you locked in — Ravens-Bills or Browns-Steelers?
