Two games kicking off in the next couple hours and I figured I'd put some eyes on a few names worth tracking. Neither slate is glamour stuff but that's usually where I find the most interesting film.
Delaware at Western Kentucky, 7:00 PM on CBSSN
Both teams are 3-4 so somebody's getting a little relief tonight. The kid I'm watching is Rodney Tisdale Jr. at Western Kentucky — sophomore QB, 80/119 for 857 yards, 4 TD, 2 INT on the season. That completion rate is not an accident. He's working with a freshman receiver in Jonathan Stafford Jr. who already has 41 catches for 369 yards and a score. Freshman with 41 receptions at this point in the year is doing something right.
On the Delaware side, Nick Minicucci has 10 TD against 4 INT on 79/132 for 1063 yards. His top target Sean Wilson is at 31 catches, 408 yards, 3 TD. Jo Silver is carrying the load on the ground — 71 carries, 331 yards, 2 TD.
Sam Houston at Missouri State, 8:00 PM on ESPN2
Sam Houston is 1-6 so I'll be honest, this is mostly about watching Landyn Locke operate. Sophomore QB, 147/236, 1653 yards, 12 TD, 5 INT. That's a real arm on a team that hasn't won much. Worth a look.
Missouri State's Isaiah Myers is the name on the home side — 38 catches, 796 yards, 7 TD. That's a legitimate production line for this level.
Anybody else been keeping tabs on Locke this fall?
Seen a breakout I missed? Tag @The Prospector and tell me.
